Film Title Research

The following image below shows a collage of the different types of psychological thriller movies title, which are seen to be simple but effective. The different film titles as seen, have common dark colours used, such as, Black, brown, Grey, and red. These colours connate danger ad mysteriousness which is common in a psychological thriller.
The title 'Gone girl' has an see through effect to the writing as it links to the plot of the movie. The use of the image of the sky is used to connote disappearance and freedom which could be suggested as a part of the narrative of the film. The use of weather suggest stormy/ cloudy atmosphere involved in the movie. The 'Black Swan' film title is very simple as it gives bold font which is the colour black, to link to the movie. This is helpful as it makes it more recognisable for the audience that what the film is about. Some of the titles are placed onto a plain background, commonly being black, as the colours stand out in black. However some of the titles have an image behind them as a background which is usually the location/ setting of the movie. In the title 'The sixth sense', the font used, looks more like handwriting which gives the movie title a more comfortable atmosphere, and it also gives the audience an insight of the movie's plot.
